Neelu Tummala is a physician and assistant professor of surgery at NYU Langone Health.
She was previously at George Washington University School where she was the co-director of the Climate Health Institute.
Dr. Tummala completed her medical degree and Master of Science in Nutrition at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and residency in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at Wake Forest University.
She was named a Top Doctor by Washingtonian Magazine in 2022 and 2023.
Dr. Tummala is on the Executive Committee of The Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health and is a Health Ambassador for the American Lung Association.
She was in the inaugural class of the Public Voices Fellowship on the Climate Crisis with the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication and the Op Ed Project.
She is a co-founder of the first national Head and Neck Surgery Sustainability group for healthcare providers and of Surgeons for a Sustainable Future, a collaborative sustainability working group of surgeons across the United States.
